What the numbers mean
Use average, not best
Take the last 10 videos and average them. Quoting off one outlier is the fastest way to lose a repeat sponsor when the next video underperforms.
Niche moves the number more than size
A 15,000 view finance or software channel routinely earns more per video than a 100,000 view entertainment channel, because the viewer is closer to spending money.
Evergreen views are leverage
If most of your views arrive after the first month, the sponsor keeps getting impressions for a year. Show that curve and ask for the top of the range.
Common questions
How much should I charge for a YouTube sponsorship?
The common baseline is $20 to $50 per thousand average views for a 60 to 90 second integration, adjusted up in high value niches like finance, software and business, and down in broad entertainment. Use average views from your last 10 videos, not your best video.
How is a sponsorship rate actually calculated?
Average views divided by 1,000, multiplied by a CPM rate for your niche, then adjusted for placement. A dedicated video is worth roughly two to three times an integration, a short mention roughly a third to a half.
Do evergreen videos justify a higher rate?
Yes. If a video keeps getting found months after publishing, the sponsor keeps getting impressions long after the payment. That is a real argument for a premium, and it is worth showing the brand a 12 month view curve from an older video to prove it.
What if my channel is small?
Small channels with a specific, buyer heavy topic often get better rates per view than large general ones, because the audience is closer to a purchase decision. Lead with average views and topic relevance, not subscriber count.
Should I charge per video or per campaign?
Per video keeps things simple and lets you raise rates as views grow. Multi video packages are worth a 10% to 15% discount at most, and only when payment is upfront or split across a short schedule.
Is this an exact quote?
No. It is a defensible starting range. The final number depends on exclusivity, usage rights, turnaround time, and how badly the brand wants your specific audience.
